Why We Built OperaX: A Letter from the Team

We Started as Operators

In late 2024, our team — veterans from ByteDance, Alibaba, and the largest cross-border e-commerce platforms — made a decision. We didn't start a software company. We started a brand.

20 people, one goal: build and sell products on TikTok Shop from scratch.

We did everything manually. Found creators by searching the platform for hours. Sent outreach messages one by one. Reviewed sample requests in spreadsheets. Checked ad performance when we remembered to. Compiled reports at the end of each month.

And it worked. The brand grew. Other brands noticed and asked us to manage their shops too.

Then We Hit a Wall

By mid-2025, we were operating 30+ brands. Our team had grown to 50 people, and it still wasn't enough.

The breaking points were always the same:

3am problems: Ad campaigns crashing overnight with nobody watching. We'd discover $800 wasted by morning.

Sample debt: 500+ requests piling up daily across all shops. Our team spent entire mornings just reviewing samples — the most mind-numbing, repetitive work imaginable.

Creator blindness: We knew there were perfect creators out there for our brands. We just didn't have enough hours in the day to find them.

Data lag: By the time we compiled weekly reports, the insights were already stale. Trends we should have caught on Monday weren't visible until Friday.

The Question That Changed Everything

One night, after discovering another overnight ad crash, someone asked:

"What if we had a team that never sleeps?"

Not a dashboard with more charts. Not a chatbot that answers questions. A real operations team — one that executes tasks, makes decisions within the rules we set, and only escalates to humans when it truly needs to.

That's when OperaX was born.

What We Believe

Operations should be invisible. The best-run stores don't have huge operations teams. They have systems that handle the routine so humans can focus on strategy.

AI should do, not just advise. The world has enough AI that generates reports and recommendations. We needed AI that actually reviews samples, pauses ads, and contacts creators.

Brands should focus on being brands. Creating great products, telling great stories, building real relationships with customers. Not spending 4 hours a day reviewing sample requests.

The best tool is one built by its users. We use OperaX on our own 30+ brands every day. When something doesn't work, we feel the pain first and fix it first.

Where We're Going

Today, OperaX manages operations for thousands of stores. But we're just getting started.

Our goal: help 100,000 brands operate at the level of the best in the world — without needing a 50-person operations team to do it.

Let great brands be seen.

Keep Day One.
